Q: I don’t live near a Walmart, can I still get the offers?
A: These offers are only available at Walmart.
Q: I thought the items were free but I have to pay for them?
A: Ibotta gives you cash back on your every day purchases. For the 9 offers in the free Thanksgiving dinner campaign, you can get cash back equivalent to the MSRP - making the cost free to you after purchase. Add the items to your list in the app or browser extension then shop at Walmart to get the cash back.
Q: How many people does the dinner feed?
A: The products have been selected to feed a family of 5. But check serving sizes to ensure they meet the needs of your family.
Q: Do I have to buy all the items to qualify?
A: No - there are 9 individual offers in this campaign for you to browse. Feel free to redeem one, many or all of them. But hurry… there are limited quantities and they will only be available while stocks last!
Q: But your terms and conditions state ‘Requires purchase of nine participating products and Ibotta redemption to get cash back.’
A: That statement refers to what you need to do to get the complete Thanksgiving dinner for free. If you only want a few of the items that’s totally fine too!
Q: I want a bigger turkey for my family. Can I get one?
A: You are welcome to purchase a Butterball whole turkey at a higher price and use the $9.98 cash back towards the cost. Always check the offer details and scan the barcode in-store to ensure the item qualifies.
Q: Can I get more than 1 of each offer?
A: No - each item is limited to 1 redemption per user.
Q: How do I check if items are eligible?
A: If you’re shopping in store you can scan the barcode of the item in the offer details to check that it matches. If you’re shopping online from your computer using our browser extension, the browser extension will highlight products that qualify for cash back right on the page.
Q: My local Walmart store does not stock 1 of the offers.
A: All Ibotta offers are subject to availability. Please check for other offers in the free Thanksgiving event that might be in stock.
Q: I am quarantining / I don’t feel safe going to the store. How do I get the offers?
A: Try Walmart Pick Up and Delivery - link your account in the Walmart Pick Up & Delivery gallery, add the offers to your list and then shop walmart.com/grocery for delivery.
Q: Walmart Grocery substituted 1 or more of my items and I didn’t get credit.
A: You must receive the qualifying product in order to get the cash back reward. Many savers chose to uncheck ‘allow substitutions’ in Walmart Pick Up & Delivery.
Q: Can I get my Walmart shop delivered through Instacart and still get the rewards?
A: No - you must shop directly through Walmart Pick Up & Delivery or in-store. Instacart has a separate gallery of offers available in the app and browser extension.
Q: In my store the MSRP is more than / less than the user reward so my item wasn’t free.
A: Cash back amounts mirror the most common MSRP on the 9 items but the price could vary at your local store. Check before you buy. You get to keep the extra cash back if the price you paid is less than the offer amount.
Q: I live in Hawaii / Alaska / Puerto Rico - can I still get this offer?
A: Yes however MSRPs tend to be a little higher in these states so items might not work out fully free check before you buy.
Q: I clicked ‘add all to list’ but I don’t think all the offers unlocked
A: Close your app and open it - the offers should show on your list at Walmart. Update your app to the latest version for a better user experience!
Q: A user reward is showing as offer sold out. Can I redeem it?
A: No unfortunately due to high demand, that specific offer is no longer available.
Q: I returned my items and my credit has been reversed!
A: If you return an item to Walmart, your credit will be reversed. If there is something wrong with the item you buy, talk to Walmart about offering a substitution rather than a refund to prevent your credit from being reversed.
Q: How much is Ibotta donating to Feeding America?
A: Our goal is to provide at least another 150,000 meals through the donations that we make.
Q: Why can some users access the campaign early?
A: We are excited to launch this campaign with a phased 3 day launch - everyone will have the opportunity to get the offers from 11/4.
Q: How do I download the browser extension?
A: From your computer, go to the Chrome Store and click Add to Chrome to add the extension to your Chrome browser. Log in to the browser extension with your Ibotta email address.
Q: What if I don’t have a Chrome browser?
A: You can download Chrome for free from google.com/chrome.
Q: Why do I need to download the browser extension to access the offers?
A: The browser extension is a convenient way to save on online purchases from your computer and we want as many users to try it as possible!
Q: I filled out my Ibotta email address as prompted to get the offers in my app, but they still aren't on my account hours later.
A: Please refer to our Help Center article "Help: I am having a technical issue" and follow the instructions outlined in order to see the offers in your account.
Q: I downloaded the browser extension but I still don’t see the offers
A: Make sure you login to the browser extension with your Ibotta email address. The offers will show instantly on the browser extension. You’ll know when the offers are available as you’ll see this home screen prompt below recommended retailers.
