We are always exploring how to make earning real cash more convenient. For that reason, we are expanding our integrations with loyalty programs at many grocery retail partners.
By connecting a grocery retailer loyalty account to your Ibotta account, every time you shop and scan your loyalty card or punch in your phone number at check out, your purchase information will submit automatically to us. Once your purchase information is received, we match your offers to your purchases and credit your account within 48 hours. However, there are important things to keep in mind about this process, so we included a few tips for success below.
Tip 1: The process for connecting your loyalty account will vary depending on the retailer. You may have noticed some retailer's pages have a button noting "Link [Retailer] Loyalty Card", while others say "Connect [Retailer] Card". Depending on how the retailer's loyalty program is set up with Ibotta, connecting your account will either involve just entering and saving your loyalty account ID, or it may involve actually logging into your loyalty account through Ibotta. Tip 2: You must add all of your offers to your My Offers gallery prior to shopping. Our system will only reference the offers listed in your My Offers gallery when matching your purchase items for credit. If the offer is not added to your My Offers gallery, our system will not credit you for the purchase.
Tip 3: You must scan your retailer loyalty card or enter your loyalty account's phone number at check out. Confirm the card or phone number you use at check out is the same one associated with the loyalty account you linked to your Ibotta account. If you use someone else's loyalty account or don't use any loyalty account at all, your purchase information will not be sent to our system at all.
Tip 4: You will not receive a pending notification like with manual receipt submissions. It takes our system about 48 hours to process loyalty account receipt submissions. You will receive a receipt notification at the end of the 48 hours and see your credit added at that time.
Tip 4: Hold onto your printed Point-of-Sale receipt, just in case. If you are missing credit from a purchase submitted by your loyalty account, write into Ibotta Care! We can use your physical receipt to confirm your purchases and give you the credit you earned.
Tip 5: We appreciate your patience as our team works to perfect this automated submission crediting process. For some behind-the-scenes context, our system is cross-referencing the unique product identifiers from your purchase to what we have listed for that product in our system. We will automatically credit whatever matches. Sometimes, the information we have may not exactly match the information the retailer is providing for that product. In this case, we will miss crediting your offer through the automatic process but are happy to correctly credit you if you reach out. We are always working to make this better and minimize missed credit!
