Historically, Ibotta has always given you the right to opt out of the sharing of your anonymized and/or deidentified information with third parties. Within the Preference Center (both within the app and on the website), there was a button titled “Limit Ad Tracking” which would prevent Ibotta from sharing your anonymized and/or deidentified information with third parties. The new “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” button does exactly the same thing as the old “Limit Ad Tracking” button. The only difference is the name, which was changed in anticipation of new data privacy laws throughout the United States, including California’s new data privacy law, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”).
