Managing your linked social accounts is easier than ever! Now you can create a password, update your email address, and unlink your social accounts all on the Ibotta app.
If your Apple, Google, or Facebook account is linked with Ibotta, you can manage them by following these steps:
- Tap the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the app
- Tap Profile
- Tap Settings
- Tap Login information
If you have Linked social accounts, they will be listed on the Login information page. Be sure your device is updated to the latest app version so you’re able to access your linked social accounts.
How do I unlink or relink my social account?
You can unlink your social account by following these steps:
- Tap the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the app
- Tap Profile
- Tap Settings
- Tap Login information
- Tap Unlink next to the Apple, Google, or Facebook account you wish to unlink
If you want to relink your account, simply log back into the app again using the same social account.
Please keep in mind, if the email address on your social account is no longer the same as the one currently being used on your Ibotta account, relinking that social account may accidentally create a new multiple Ibotta account.
How do I log in to the app?
If you created an Ibotta account with an Apple, Google, or Facebook account, you can continue to log back into the Ibotta app using that linked account:
- On the Log in page, tap Continue with next to Apple, Google, or Facebook
- Select the social account you originally used to create your Ibotta account
Please keep in mind, if the email address on a social account is no longer the same as the one currently being used on your Ibotta account, logging in with that social account may accidentally create a new multiple Ibotta account.
How do I change the password on my Ibotta account?
If you created your Ibotta account using Apple, Google, or Facebook, you may not have an Ibotta password yet and will need to create one.
Additionally, you won’t be able to update your Ibotta email address until you create a password. Follow these steps to create an Ibotta account password:
- Tap the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the app
- Tap Profile
- Tap Settings
- Tap Login information
- Tap Create password
If you already have an Ibotta account password, you can change it by following the same steps above and tapping Reset on the Login information page.
How do I change the email address on my Ibotta account?
When you first create your Ibotta account using Apple, Google, or Facebook, the email address will initially be the same as your linked social account email address.
If you wish to change this email address, you must first create a password if one has not already been created.
Follow these steps to change your Ibotta account email address in the app:
- Tap the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the app
- Tap Profile
- Tap Settings
- Tap Login information
- Tap Edit next to the email address, enter, and confirm your new email address.
- Tap Save
- You will receive confirmation emails to both the old and new email addresses, please be sure to Confirm this change in both emails
- Once you have confirmed the change, you can complete the login process using your new email address
Will my social account still be linked?
If you change your email address, your social account will still remain linked. You are able to unlink any social account on the Login information page.
What if I don’t have access to the original email address anymore?
If you do not have access to your original email address, unfortunately, you will not be able to change it in the app as a confirmation email must be sent to the original email address to complete the change.
