When you verify your phone number, you add an extra layer of security to your account.
To withdraw your earnings, you must have your account confirmed and your phone number verified with the app.
Follow these steps to verify your phone number:
- Tap Profile, located at the top left of the home page.
- Scroll to the Verify device section.
- Select the Link your phone number option.
- Enter your new number.

Enter the verification code you received on your phone.
- Press the Home button on your device (do not hit the back arrow on the device or within the app) and wait for the text message to arrive. Once it arrives, you may need to write down the code.
- Depending on your device, these steps will vary. For Android devices: Press and hold the Home/Task Switcher button to switch back to the app. For iPhone: double press the Home button and switch back to the app.
- Tap Verify.
Once the verification is successful, you will receive a "Device Verified" notification. Your phone has been successfully verified in our system, and you can now withdraw your earnings!

Q: Why do I need phone verification?
A: Phone verification keeps your Ibotta earnings and payment information safe and secure. We may ask you to verify your device before using certain app features or withdraw your Ibotta earnings. This process lets us know you're using a valid number and have access to that phone. Rest assured, Ibotta respects the privacy of your personal information. Your phone number will never be shared with any third-party websites or services.
Q: I am unable to verify my number and received an error message "It looks like the number you're trying to use is already connected to another account or a foreign phone number."
A: If the number you are trying to enter is connected to another Ibotta account or based outside of the US, we will not be able to verify it. Check to see if you've already created another account with a different email. if the phone number is linked to a different Saver’s Ibotta account, the only way to have this number verified to your account is if the current Saver requests the number be removed from their account. Otherwise, you will need to use a completely different phone number.
Q: What if I don't have a cell phone number?
A: If you don't have a cell phone number, you can enter a landline number, and we’ll give you a call with a verification code. If you don't have either, we recommend waiting to withdraw your funds. We do not recommend using another individual's number. Remember that a phone number may only be linked to one account.
Q: How will Ibotta use my phone number?
A: Ibotta will only use your phone number for phone verification. We'll never share your number with any other party or text you promotional content without your explicit consent. Ibotta will never call you.
Q: Will I be charged for the text message from Ibotta?
A: No. Outside of normal/standard data and text messaging rates associated with your device plan, Ibotta will not charge you to receive a verification text code.
Q: What if I enter the wrong number?
A: Your phone number won't be saved to your account until it's verified. If you enter the wrong number, you can follow the prompts in the app to enter the number again.
Q: How often will I need to verify my phone number?
A: Although you shouldn't have to verify your phone number regularly, we may ask you to re-verify your phone number based on your app activity in order to keep your account safe.
