FAQ & Troubleshooting
Q: I shopped in-store with cash. Can I still get cash back at Walmart?
A: Yes! Even if you shop with cash or an unconnected payment method, you can still earn cash back by uploading receipts. See how, here.
Q: Can I connect with debit/credit/EBT or gift card?
A: Yes, visit the Walmart Help Center to see all available Payment Methods.
Q: I tried to submit a paper receipt, but the app says it has already been submitted.
A: If you are trying to submit your paper Walmart receipts and the system tells you it has already been submitted, it means your payment method is already connected to a Walmart account in our system. Check your app for purchase confirmation.
Q: Help: I think the wrong Ibotta account may have been rewarded.
A: Be sure to avoid sharing a payment method across multiple Walmart accounts. Otherwise, the wrong Ibotta account may be rewarded. Additionally, if you do not see the Walmart purchase pending or complete in your Ibotta account, your Walmart account may be linked to a previous (possibly inactive) Ibotta account. Each Saver is allowed only one active Ibotta account. You will need to remove the link from the old account, or set up a new Walmart Account to earn cash back.
Q: Help: my account shows that it's connected, but I'm not seeing cash back on my purchases.
A: If you confirm that you went shopping with a connected payment method, used the connected payment method when paying for the purchase, and you still don't see cash back, you will need to unlink and relink your account before your next transaction.
Q: I get an error that states “Something went wrong, please try again.”
A: If you see this error when trying to connect with Walmart.com through Ibotta, try logging in directly with Walmart.com in your browser. You can find support for connecting a payment method and other connectivity issues via https://www.walmart.com/help

Privacy notice
We will only receive information related to which purchases were made at Walmart, this does not include payment information. This purchase data is shared with Ibotta so that we can match qualifying offers and give you cash back. This connection is secure and no additional data is shared with Ibotta.
Some purchase data is shared with Ibotta based on the credit or debit card saved to your Walmart account. If one credit or debit card is saved to multiple Walmart accounts, and those Walmart accounts are both linked to an Ibotta account, then cash back could go to any Ibotta account, but not multiple. To prevent this, we recommend using a unique credit or debit card saved to your Walmart account or disconnecting one of the Walmart accounts from Ibotta.
